Gnetum Salty Chips?? Alright, I will introduce you the most eccentric and addictive chips, this chip is made from the seeds of the gnetum fruit and you know what, this is my 1st ranked favorite chips. I always carry and enjoy this gnetum salty chips while watching a movie, although sometimes I eat popcorn but popcorn is my last choice if I'm out of stock of this gnetum salty chips at my home. 





Hey, come here!! I tell you my little secret, to be honest, no one dares to ask me to share this gnetum chips while I enjoy eating it and I could eat 300 grams gnetum chips  without anyone help LOL. This chips has its own addictive substances and also there is a slightly typical bitter taste but this bitter taste will be felt when we drink water, strange isn't it?? yup but I myself don't know the cause, but you could prove it by yourself.


How to make this addictive chips?? Ohh it's easy but you should make with patience OK, that's the KEY to making crunchy gnetum salty chips. For the ingredients of this gnetum salty chips are gnetum fruit seeds, salt, and sugar, that's it?? YUP, that's it, easy right.


For the dipping sauce you can use mayonaise, sour cream and onion dip and marinara dip, or maybe you have a special dipping sauce you like to combine with this chip it's up to you. But I prefer without any dipping sauce, I like salty and natural taste so I can feel the ORIGINAL taste from this chips.

Ingredients :



  • 1 lb riped gnetum fruit
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar powder
  • 3 cup cooking oil


Directions :

  1. Peel the gnetum fruits until clean.
  2. Prepare a wok and heat it without oil, stir and roast the gnetum fruit approximately 3-8 minutes until the clour little bit black and remove.
  3. Crush gnetum hard skin until you can see white color.
  4. Collect the white seeds, smash with meat tenderizer tool (flat side) until the gnetum seeds flat and thin.
  5. Heat the flat gnetum with oven approximately 20-30 minutes at medium heat until 95% dry.



Methods :

  1. Pour 3 cup cooking into a wok and heat, fry all dry gnetum until golden brown (turn into chips) and remove.
  2. Prepare a big jar and put 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon sugar powder, put all gnetum chips while it's still hot, shake it until mix well.



Notes :

  • Cool down gnetum chips temperature before stored in the jar.
  • You could use sand in a roasted method.
