SAUTEED BROCCOLI WITH TOFU

Hi!! we meet again food lovers, this morning I stroll to a supermarket and it's located close to my home, I want to buy some bottled spices. I skip every supermarket aisle until I arrive at my favorite aisle, and......here we are at bottled spices aisle. Sometimes I can spend about 15-30 minutes to find ideas in this aisle.





Ok after from this aisle we moved towards to aisle vegetables, today I want to make dishes from broccoli and I combine it with tofu but I don't use any meat, sometimes my family and I prefer a dish without any meat. Eating too much meat is also unhealthy but the best thing is to try to keep everything balanced between eating meat and vegetables.


I already founded the fresh and green broccoli and also the tofu, I choose shrimp tofu, it's taste like shrimp. I make this menu for lunch, so......it's time to went home and cook but let's go to the cashier first, pay all the stuff OK, let's goooooo.

To cook these vegetables we can use all the parts from broccoli, even the broccoli stalks. To use the stalks we have to peel it first, remove all the hard skin take the middle part or soft content inside the stalks, the middle part or the content of the broccoli stalks after peeled would be very similar to KAI LAN vegetable stalks, but not as big as broccoli stalks. We will cook the broccoli and tofu with sauteed method.


When you soak the broccoli in hot boiling water try to boil the stalks part a little bit longer than the flower parts. And.....ahh there's another tip after you cut all the broccoli, you should prepare water and little bit vinegar in the bowl and then soak the broccoli for 30 seconds or 1 minutes, it will remove the vegetable grubs inside broccoli.



Ingredients :




  • 150 grams fresh broccoli
  • 1 pieces tofu
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 pieces big red chili
  • 1/4 teaspoon M.S.G
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cooking wine
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Directions :
  1. Cut broccoli into bite sized.
  2. Cut tofu into bite-sized.
  3. Chop 2 cloves garlic.
  4. Cut and slice big red chili.
  5. Combine Seasonings : put 1/4 teaspoon M.S.G, 1/4 teaspoon sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, 1 teaspoon oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon cooking wine, 1/2 cup water into the bowl and mix well.
  6. Cornstarch paste : mix 1 teaspoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoon water and mix well.


Methods :

  1. Boil broccoli in hot water about 5 minutes and remove.
  2. Deep fry tofu about 1 minutes over high heat until golden brown and remove.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoon oil, add chopped garlic, slice big red chili, put the broccoli, tofu and combined seasonings in and stir fry quickly over high heat thoroughly, add 2 tablespoon sesame oil and cornstarch paste, remove and serve.


Notes :

  • Don't use oyster sauce so this menu could be classified as a vegetarian menu.
